About Me

Hey everyone! I’m Dr. Cherese Fine, a scholar and educator dedicated to developing change agents and advancing social justice and equity in organizations.
I have worked in the education field for over 15 years primarily centered on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. I’ve developed and coordinated several programs centered on college access and readiness, retention, and success for underrepresented and minoritized populations. I’m also dedicated to transforming research into practice. I’ve conducted program assessments, evaluations, and research projects for various departments and currently teach courses in the same areas. I've worked in both professional staff and faculty roles.
As a first-generation college student, I love spending time with and mentoring high school and college students in helping them navigate their academic experiences and building their professional development skills.
I am an alumnus twice of the University of New Mexico where I earned a BBA in Marketing Management and a MS in Sport Administration. I earned my PhD in Educational Leadership from Clemson University.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. My scholarship focuses on Black college students, organizations, and intercollegiate athletics.
Outside of my work I enjoy concerts, shows, and sweets.
